On July 1, 2007, disabilityworks became a statewide initiative with the hiring of eight individuals who had previously been Disability Program Navigators (DPNs).

The statewide disabilityworks staff are now known as disabilityworks Resource Coordinators (dRCs) and are Chicagoland Chamber of Commerce employees. The dRCs work to promote the economic and employment opportunities of people with disabilities. Their role across the state builds collaborative partnerships with both the private and public sectors. Each dRC is located in an Illinois Economic Development Region and is networking within at least five Comprehensive One Stop Career Centers in order to provide resources and staff training that will ultimately enhance the employment opportunities of people with disabilities in each region. dRCs are currently located in Rockford, Chicago, Chicago Metro, Quincy, Mt. Vernon, Mattoon, East St. Louis and Peoria.
