Chicagoland Provider Leadership Network Held Outstanding Training for Job Developers
Through a highly interactive training sponsored by disabilityworks' Chicagoland Provider Leadership Network (CPLN), its Coordinating Council and RSA Region V CRP-RCEP, workforce development professionals participated in a training that many attendees are calling "the best training ever."
Bill Santos from Employment Management Professionals, Inc. conducted back-to-back half day trainings for a total of 56 Illinois, Indiana and Wisconsin job developers and other workforce development professionals at the James R. Thompson Center on August 27, 2008. Both new and experienced job developers were challenged to think strategically about their attitude toward employers as well as job seekers with disabilities. Rather than focusing on employer myths as is often the case with disability related training, this workshop was essential in helping front line placement professionals open up new possibilities of employment for people with disabilities.
