Exemplary Best Practices & Innovation Awards Presented for 2nd Year at the Chicagoland Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors Meeting

Director Jack Lavin of the Illinois Department of Commerce & Economic Opportunity (DCEO) presented the 2nd Annual disabilityworks Awards to a small business and a nonprofit at the October 21, 2008 Chicagoland Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors meeting. Over 100 members of the Chicagoland business community were present at Northwestern Memorial Hospital to witness the presentation.

DCEO, disabilityworks and the Chicagoland Chamber of Commerce presented the Exemplary Best Practices Award to Inclusion Solutions in recognition of their best practices in hiring, accommodating, and retaining employees with disabilities. Inclusion Solutions is also an active member of the Chicagoland Business Leadership Network (CBLN).

DCEO, disabilityworks and the Chicagoland Chamber of Commerce presented the Innovation Award to Neumann Association in recognition of creating an e-commerce based social enterprise called "Neutou," which provides people with disabilities job training and employment opportunities within the nonprofit arena. Neumann Association is also an active member of the Chicagoland Provider Leadership Network (CPLN).
