Middle-Aged Americans Mobility-Related Disabilities Rising,
Older Americans' Rate Decline

According to a study recently completed by Rand Corporation and the University of Michigan's Institute of Social Research, Americans between the ages of 50 and 64 are reporting more mobility related disabilities than previously ever recorded.  Those surveyed stated that their disabilities impacted their ability to complete daily living functions independently, including getting in and out of bed and around their own homes. Ailments typically cited were arthritis and rheumatism. Naturally, these types of disabling conditions will spillover and have an impact in the workplace as well. Fortunately, disabilityworks and CBLN can provide  the necessary resources to assist employers in making appropriate accommodations for these employees so that they can maintain peak productivity.
